The patient portion of your bill is based on your insurance provider and the coverage you carry with them. However, other factors can affect the estimate of this portion – a deductible (individual or family) or receiving treatment in other offices (i.e. a specialist). Insurance companies do not notify us of changes to your benefits, due to the Canada and Alberta Government Privacy Acts, so we may need to account for these changes using a bill.
The best way for you to avoid this is to keep us up-to-date with your dental insurance coverage. Our staff can assist you with this.
Avenue 14 Dental accepts debit, cash, credit, & e-transfers. We also offer direct billing, and accept ALL insurance providers. In accordance with the Canada and Alberta Government Privacy Acts, it is your responsibility (as the insurance policy holder) to notify us of any changes to your insurance coverage. Our staff can assist you with claims forms – this includes sending predeterminations of medical benefits to your insurance provider before treatment, and then reviewing their responses to you. We are committed to ensuring you are fully prepared at the time of your dental treatment.
Avenue 14 Dental bills your insurance as a courtesy. If your provider does not pay, we reserve the right to request full payment from you. In accordance with the Canada and Alberta Government Privacy Acts, your insurance provider cannot inform us of changes to your insurance policy, so it remains your responsibility to keep us up-to-date on what they will and will not cover. Our staff can help you interpret insurance statements, if necessary.
Health Spending Accounts are offered by some employers, in addition to (or instead of) dental benefits. These can be used to reimburse any out of pocket health care expenses. If your employer has provided this option, you can submit an invoice to your employer to collect these funds. Health Spending Accounts can be used for anything our office provides, including procedures that are not covered by insurance, as well as your portion of partially-covered procedures.
Appointment cancellations require 2 business days notice. This allows us to reallocate your appointment time to patients who need it most. If notice is not provided, a broken appointment penalty may be charged.
Emergencies are always welcome.
